A summer of deep and long diving

Another Sunday in paradise… so off to Gozo we go!
Not too sure where else you can do 3 wrecks on a single easy dive.
Here we have 3 old ferries, one upside down, in a row at about 40m. 1 to 2 minute swim between them. Clear, warm water, no current.

Exploring the depths in Gozo

The plan was simple. First point of interest was the famous Coral cave. We wanted to explore the large entrance as going in the cave is unofficially protected – the bubbles can be harmful for the corals inside.

As soon as we jumped in the water we discovered that the visibility was around 20 meters. Enough for the purpose of the exercise today. The second point of the dive was me to gain some depth and to do a deco dive.

The cave was nice. One needs a torch to see the corals in their beautiful colors. Then we turned right and disappeared in the blue. At a depth of 40 meters we spent some time and slowly continued close to the wall enjoying the company of a large amberjack and two groupers.

Um El-Faroud on a Yellow box

Well, yet another excellent weekend of diving with the Scubaworksmalta.com crew !

I will be honest, I did not miss the P29 on Saturday as I was gainfully employed. I did hear, on the grapevine, that I was not the only one who missed it.The plan was to dive the Um El-Faroud at Wied Iz-Zurrieq (Blue Grotto is easier to say and spell!) and as a group of primarily professional divers we dived our plan…
