Diving
SIMPLE!!
Well here we are again – Sunday 13 June in not so sunny today Malta… Soon the real Summer will start – maybe? Then we will be complaining it is too hot…
Anyway – 3 cars, 6 divers, a small www.scubaworksmalta.com turn out today, but us die-hards are all eager to do Reqqa Point on the North shore of Gozo. The wind is on our side, so it should be good.
Sadly no ladder, but we can do it. Who needs a ladder?
4 are on singles, some with pony’s (Piss Off Not Yours)… 1 on twin 10’s with an o ring that not sure where it came from… and one on Inspiration CCR with Trimix (so at least someone may remember the dive
)
The real divers… did Bottle Cave!
Awesome! Find this hole at 35m. Go in and drop down to 57m and come out into the light… Stunning.
Then we worked our way along towards some caves. Not too many big fish today, but still an awesome dive. The others watched us drop into the cave and saw us exiting at the bottom – a new deepest dive was recorded
Quite busy today so met/saw a few other divers – even saw some awesome diver rage…. like road rage, only it is quieter!
Whatever…
Anyway it is time to start going up and a quick check on the deco… can you do that one more time! 30 minutes!? I have 5… C U L8R. PS Do you want my PONY?
Usual stuff – CCR diver limited on scrubber life, so if all OK, go up! Twin 10’s with loads of air left, no problem. I will get out and then keep an eye on you from the surface!
Maybe…
Wind and surge had picked up a bit, so some other divers were there to assist exiting divers – thanks guys – and eventually Twin 10’s decided enough was enough!
Then it was off to an awesome restaurant – damn I wish I knew its name… – high on the hill overlooking the Mgarr ferry terminal and Blue Lagoon on Comino, for a snack. Awesome pizza and a lovely Russian waitress…
Back to Malta – early to avoid the Sunday rush.
Being on the CCR, no problem with doing another dive… and some of the others, cunningly, had a spare cylinder! So 4 of the real scubaworksmalta.com crew decided to dive the P29 – to see the amazing groupers.
The grouper were awesome – 35m and trying to outstare a large black grouper… They are just not fazed by divers!
We also had another first – 5 years diving in Malta and Miranda saw her first ray! Apparently not a ray of sunshine or a ray of hope…
Sorry!
Damn, no more ciders for me at Peppermill.
Once again, another excellent scubaworksmalta.com dive experience, with your underwater partner
Until next time…
PS You have heard of the Horse Whisperer? Well, we have the Seahorse Finder… Found it again at Wied iz Zurrieq! It is bigger now and still damn near impossible to find…but, maybe Wednesday!? Join us?
