After any dive the now customary Scubaworks debrief takes place! We simply find the nearest bar / restaurant and chat about the dive and up and coming events. BITES is simply a forum to express members personal views on the quality of service and food we find in the Maltese Islands.
5* = excellent highly recommenced
4* = very good we will be back
3* = OK but don;t feel hurt by are remarks
2* = simply this would be are second choice if next door was closed
1* = Give up on debrief go home never to return
Blue Cave
Wied iz zurrieq
After the slog of a climb up the hill and de-kitting at blue grotto refreshments are always welcome Blue Cave is a Diver friendly bar / restaurant serving a wide selection on its menu. Divers still in kit are welcome to sit outside and make use of the waiter service! In season you might have to wait a little longer but rest a sure the young waiter Glen will be on hand to take orders ASAP. If your in real clothes you can enter the bar! Do stop to look on the walls at pictures of “wild zurrieq” photos taken during heavy storms lashing the valley. Norbart the bar man very friendly and helpful. The food coming out of Marica’s kitchen all ways looks good and is well presented. All pricers are reasonable and show value for money.

Peppermill

St Pauls Bay
Mark & Ross owners of the peppermill both have a real passion for food and service to the top order. The restaurant and bar are very comfortable and the patio proves very popular with divers in the summer (might be it is next door to a dive centre) The menu is varied and reasonably priced. Mark prides himself with many home made dishes available each week. Larger groups can all ways ask for a set priced menu for a end of diving holiday celebration meal (Rack of BBQ ribs highly recommended) Your waitress come barmaid Ross is simply charming and all ways very helpful No doubt if your in the peppermill in season you will see 1 or 2 of the scubaworks members around if so come say Hello:).
