Cirkewwa

With the works limo down and out for the count all heads where banged together for transport for the weekend! Two members come up trumps and found us wheels for the weekend so off we all go then!

Our first dive for the weekend is Zurrieq next to Blue Grotto . The wreck Um El Faroud is the target (Debbie miss it the last time) and 3-4 buddy pairs set off in search! Mission accomplished as all were found swimming around the wreck happily poking in and out of holes. Debbie is running a marathon keeping up but enjoying the wreck passing by many of the sights to be held on this dive.

120 bars of air left and time to head back to shore leaving the wreck behind heading mid-water back to the reef! On target we hit the reef at 10 meters and slowly head back to Zurrieq in-let. Our eye’s are seeking in all nooks and crannies for an octopus as Debbie has yet to have seen one since she has lived in Malta. Not happy the small Octopus we found managed to stay with us for the photo Debbie so wanted!! So again mission accomplished all had a great dive and Debbie in 1 dive had seen the wreck and an octopus.

Of course the bacon and egg butties in the blue cave are becoming a must as we all know hard work deserves reward.

On to Sunday and for the first time this year we can dive Cirkewwa as the wind and swell are all coming from the south making this dive site perfect. 4 buddy pairs set out to cover the site. 2 off to the p-29 and Rozi ! A buddy pair of 3 heading off to Rozi and the Arch. And the married couple heading off to the left for some time together we presume. Sixty minutes later popping up to the surface all having enjoyed good visibility and a relaxing dive thoughts now turn to after dive replenishments ! Suggestions come in and it’s off to the heights, we find ourselves sitting snuggly just below the church in Mellieha with views out to Mellieha bay and across to Comino and Gozo beyond at a caf?/bar with everyone looking resplendent wearing their new Scubaworks polo’s. The food went down very well as the portions given were enough to feed a small army washed down with 1-2 beers it was a good way to top off a great weekend.

Join us for the next weekend!
